Fake Hens-and-Chicks?

Can you guess what this is?

These two plants appear to be  the  hens-and-chicks type propagation  in plants that I’ve recently talked about.  It’s not.  It is two separate plants, an Iris (without blooms) with a liatris growing up from right underneath it.

That white snow or powder on the leaves is actually raindrops that are reflecting the flash.  My night photography needs work.  For some beautiful night photography of  lovely gardens in Austin, look at this post on Mike Z’s blog.
